Preppy or Punk?

PREPPY

Gossip Girl is the perfect example to describe the "preppy" appearance. Neat hair, cute headbands, tailored jackets and pants, cross-over ties, an oversized bag, collared blouses, V-neck sweaters and so on. These are the ingredients to a perfect school girl… what do I mean by the perfect school girl? Well behaved, smart, dates the hottest guy from school, pretty much the girl everyone wants to be and idolizes.

PUNK

Leather jackets, studs, crazy hair, pretty much everything opposite to the “preppy” look. This appearance will tend to give a vibe of "I’m to cool" and "you don’t wanna mess with me"...

The verdict:

both looks are awesome! but the punk look is kind of getting over-done… therefore PREPPY over PUNK!

P.s- what were my highlights of last week? lets just say last Thursday night was massive!!! was drunk from 6pm, went out and didnt get home till 4am and had work at 8.30am... i know what you're thinking she is crazy! hahaha and Saturday night i had some friends over and we went to the Regatta (its like a bar down from my house) and i must say that the girls and boys that went there were gross and dirty and it was honestly just a sleaze house and there was this bitch there that fully shoulder barge me i was pisssed and was like wateva! and yes she was wearing ugly shoes ewww.... and her toy boy was ugly too HAHA

D&G Spring 09

Milan Fashion Week started this week and what can i say D&G's ready to wear collection is INCREDIBLE! i loved absolutely everything!

I love the Gold fabric with the big bows it gave a really fun vibe to the outfit. From mini skirts, to knee length and ankle skirts they were all so beautiful. I also loved the dress with the oriental inspired fans over the chest, a design that is very unique and has something special about it that you can’t take your eyes off it.

I thought the high waisted pants were really fantastic because this look will lengthen your legs and flatter all the right bits of the body if it is styled correctly. My favourite were the stripy high waisted pants because I liked the colours that were used and the stripes should also help make your legs look thinner.

Ok we all have to admit that these three looks below are cute as!! The anchors and sailing boats give it that fresh spring feeling, and the fish nets definitely glam up the look and doesn’t make it look tacky thank god! My fav was the second one because I loved the sequins and bow above the anchor and the swimming inspired cap was awesome.

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, you did such a remarkable job! Well done :)

Retro Reminiscence

My weekend this week was pretty boring i just worked worked and worked! we just started our "October Event" sale and let me tell you the women go wild they try on several different outfits and only end up buying one or two pieces or nothing at all but the thing that really bothers me is they have no consideration of hanging the clothes back like they way they found it, this truly drives me insane! especially when its all on the floor with the clothes inside out, well enough about that anyway...

I just wanted to show you this picture i took about two months ago, it was a jacket i found at an op-shop i remember when i walked in and the first thing i noticed was this wonderful rare retro jacket and i just had to buy it!! the best thing about it is that it only cost me around $8(AUD).

Browsing through my old computer i found this adorable picture of my friends drinking goon in coffee cups.. i know how classy!!

LV TWINS

Notice the LV scarves, my mum left them at my house earlier that day and my friends decided to wear them that night... oh god if mum found out she would be one unhappy woman she loves her LV!

well i hope you all enjoyed your weekend unlike me... i have sore feet from working too much :( oh well ill just think of my payslip next week which will hopefully make up for it haha.

House of Holland Spring 09

Looking at the collection, I instantly thought that this was a great mix of big bold polka dots with soft floral prints with vibrant yellows and reds an excellent colour range and was definitely well put together. It was a rather wild collection yet still quite wearable. Nice Job Mr Henry Holland!

i love love loved the shoes used throughout the collection and found a really similar pair called "Bianca" by Bette Belle $220(AU).

ALL about Miss Agyness Deyn!

Where do I even start? Agyness Deyn definitely one of the top supermodels in the fashion industry. Starting a signature look of her short edgy blonde hair, I feel like there are a lot of Aggy clones im not saying that I don’t like it, the fact is that a vast amount of girls have it now and is kind of killing the look unfortunately.

THE MOON

My weekend begun on a late Saturday afternoon as soon as I had just finished work at 2pm they asked me to stay till 5pm but of course I couldn't not only because I purely didn't want to be there but I had some guests coming over before that. We started drinking wine first and ended the night with Absolut Vodka it was crazy!! I ended up finding something to wear aswell :) yay hahaha... We went past Valley Fiesta and it was ridiculously packed and was swarming with young teenagers so my friends and I went down in an alley way talking and drinking and watching the moon and we then headed back up to hit the town at "thriller" and "common people" in the city. Birthday Weekend

I had work today long shift from 8 till 5.30 i knowww crazyy! haha So its my birthday on Monday, which means I will be celebrating this weekend with my friends :D this will involve lots of dancing and drinking !!! Valley Fiesta this weekend aswell .... from the 12-14 of September for those of you who dont know what Valley Fiesta is its a street party where it involves food, fashion, art and music!! Some bands that will be feautred on the weekend include Winnie Coopers, Operator Please, The Gin Club, End of Fashion, Ajax, Katy Steele (Little Birdy) + more. i have absolutely NO IDEA what i will be wearing this weekend :( im really stressed about that. i also have work tomorrow from 9 till 2 thank god its not the whole day..i will be taking lots of photos this weekend so lookout for them.. oh and i really want these Miu Miu shoes their adorable and to die for!!

Pretty Face to Scary Face?

Willow and I went to the movies last night and finally saw "The Strangers". Hearing everyone talk up the movie and how scary it was ... I definitely must say it was NOT scary at all. Famous Australian model Gemma Ward starred in this movie and played a role where she was a killer... I prefer seeing her gorgeous face on the runway rather than a mask on her face for the entire movie. I give this movie a rating 2 out of 5 stars. The movie dragged on too much it was a disappointing movie for me unfortunately.

Marc Jacobs Spring 09

Browsing through the collection my first thought was wow this is really cool... I loved the interesting combinations he was putting together, it felt like he had put too much together but still gave it that unusual touch that made me like it in a very confused kind of way. I like the way he used all different kind of colours and textures in the collection like the metallic, pastel, bright yellows, plaid, charcoals and greys it was great! The hats definitely gave it the finishing spring touch and they were so cute :)

I didnt particularly like this last one shown here, only because i feel like it will flaunt all the wrong bits....

Mr Jacobs you definately earned the thumbs up from me and you definately pulled off the man-skirt really well.

p.s- i saw a girl fully cheating on the exam today... not impressed! but i must say she had some confidence she was hiding the book on her lap the whole time... HOW could the teacher not see..

I'll Kill Her

Last year while tuning through the radio stations Triple J was playing a song that drew attention to us immediately, and then mentioned at the end of the song it was by a singer Winter and I had never heard of.

The song ‘I’ll Kill Her’ by ‘Soko’ had become an addiction to our ears instantly, it was all I would listen to on the way to school and when I came home.

Soko was actually named as Stephanie Sokolinski but only being known as Soko since her first memory. Born in France she started out as an actress and starred in several French movies then mentioned to her film makers she wanted to sing – on camera.

The song became a hit in Denmark and then soon discovered by Australia. It even scored a spot on ‘Triple J’s Hottest 100 – January 2008’ and came in 9th place. It was also used in 2007 for Stella McCartney’s show at the Paris Fashion Week.

Soko often seems to speak rather than sing in the song, also hearing numerous rumours that the singer doesn’t even speak English however we love the song, the beat, lyrics and everything about it. Check it out if you already haven’t.

Diane von Fursternberg Spring 09

Looking at her Spring 09 ready-to-wear collection it gave me a very laid back rock glamour feel. Throughout the collection she had her models wearing silk flowers and feathers on leather strands which was very cute and gave it a soft touch to the outfit. She also incorporated wide-brim floppy hats which I thought was quite sloppy because it lost the vibe of the theme of being a "Rock Goddess" it gave more of a hippy feel rather than a "Rock Goddess" feel. However I did absolutely love the colour range used throughout the collection, whites and reds, burnt oranges, bright yellows and blues and so on. To sum it up it was a satisfying collection for me.
